With the popularity of
TV in the 1960 s, Japanese scholars Lin Yujiro put forward the concept
of "TV
people", is intended to reveal in the print media and television
media environment to complete the socialization process of the difference of
two generations of attributes. In television, however, has long been popular
today, "television" offspring are moving in the other direction -
they may still edification in television and sound sensory stimulation, but the
source of the stimulus is no longer a single TV screen, and ubiquitous wifi

Hi Luo YuJie! :) I also can see the changes of my family pattern on watching TV and playing with their smart phone. TV is no longer used as a medium for people to get source of entertainment. Even when we watch TV, we still play with our phone. Why? Because Smart Phone offers more functions than TV can provide. While watching TV, we can chat with our friend through Whatsapp, play games while boring scene appears, download new songs and a lot more.
ReplyDeleteOoops, I forget to conclude.. So, it is not a surprise if one day, the tv is no longer become a must have item in every house. Who knows 10 years later we just need to use a more highly tech gadget to replace TV like projector.

DeleteTelevisyen function nowadays getting less attention this is because the invented of new media that give people more than what televisyen can give. For example, people don’t need to watch televisyen to know about the latest news or to keep up with their favourite drama, they can do that using their own Smartphone. The invented of Smartphone has change people behaviour and their rutin. Smartphone have a major role in people life nowadays because it suit with the needs and their satisfaction. Maybe in future , Smartphone can be the most important thing that human being need.

DeleteI am partially agreed with your statements, nowadays people are tend to rely on smartphone as a medium for them to fulfil their satisfaction towards information. Especially, now they have these all new capabilities that can equalise with TV, PC, and all the traditional media in only one gadget, which is Smartphone. However, it is not hundred percent true because there are still a lot of people outside there that using TV as a means of information and entertainment. Probably it causes because of they are convenient and accustomed to these medias. But it is not a wrong doing for using a smartphone, it helps us to quicken our works and we can get the current news with only one click.

Deletenowadays, tv get less attention this is not because tv not interesting anymore but there is a new invention which is more interesting than tv it is call smartphone. why?because smartphone can do what tv cannot do. smartphone offer as many features which i think, it's more than enough to entertain ourselves. however by the invention of smartphone not all people know how to use smart phone for entertainment for example old people (mostly) still need tv to get some news and entertain themselves after work all day. although today is technology era but not all people need smartphone. for village people, i am sure that they will choose Tv than smartphone this is due to their knowledge about technology is less.

DeleteHi Luo Yujie, nowadays television is just not the one of medium of entertainment. We can see that smartphone is one of the entertainment that people like to use. This is because, the invention of smartphone is more interesting and easy. For example, while we are in a bus or train, we can get entertainment by listen to the music or watch video on Youtube in smartphone with the uses of Internet. Internet make everything interesting. For you information, in Malaysia, Media Prima company that have channel like TV3, NTV7, TV9 and others have their own channel in internet. If we missed out movie or anything in one of this channel, we can look it on Tonton.my. So, there will be no problem if we are not watching television because nowadays the internet helps us a lot. In this era, we have to accept that smartphone is more important that the television.

But it also must be mentioned is what I do most on the mobile phone is watching TV drama or movies, etc., so, to some extent, I am a mutant TV-people. DeleteTechnology evolved over time. We can see the changes of technology through sophistication of the media. For example, people in the past get information or news only through old media such as newspaper, television and radio. At that time, people didn’t get information quickly as it is now. People nowadays get information easily through new media such as smartphone. They rarely watching television or listening radio to get new information. Now they just use smartphone to get information, entertained and do everything through their phone. For example, people now just use their smartphone to watch movie or drama using the internet. They also can get information through searching at Google. See, while using multifunction of media (smartphone), it can simplify human lives.

Yes, TV might not be as popular as it used to be because we could say that the emergence of smartphone mark the changes in technology development. But I still think that TV has its own charm. I once asked my sister when she first moved into her own house. "Why would you buy TV when you're not always at home and rarely watch it? you have everything on the smartphone". Then she replied, "TV is like the center of the home. Yes, I might be busy and so does my husband. But the feeling when the families visit home and we actually gather in front of the TV to watch random show is one of a thing. You cannot buy that kind of happiness through smartphone". What I'm trying to say here is that although smartphone is getting better and even beyond what we've expected day by day, but there is always something that it can't replace the charm TV gives.

ReplyDeleteTelevision still get its own loyal "fans" tho. Even Mobile device are now being mainstream (and even you can stream television online) but I still found that old generation still loved to sit in front of television while drinking their coffee or tea. :)
